A BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA
China, Ming dynasty
26 cm high
Seated on a double lotus base, the legs in dhyanasana position, the right hand rested on the lap and the left raised, the wide robe finely incised with stylized floral motifs loosely revealing the chest, the face with closed eyes and elongated earlobes, the curling hair surmounted by a globular ushnisha.
Provenance: the collection of a Swiss-Neapolitan noble family, acquired in early ‘30s of the 20th century.
