BIOGRAPHY: Brother of the well-known academic Ferruccio, Benvenuto is constantly present for fifty years at all the major exhibitions in the capital, also finding many admirers. Among the first Anton Giulio Bragaglia, who hosted five solo exhibitions in the 1920s and 1930s, recognizing the value of an eccentric and visionary painting, which told the "dark side" of contemporary Rome. Many of the works on display come from the Museum of Rome and the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, which bought his paintings as a precious document of a "city that was disappearing".
