An etruscan agate scarab. Boat.

4th-3rd century B.C.
13x17x10 mm

Warship facing left, and characterized by a rostrum and closed sail; six long ropes tie the crossera attached to the main mast up. Dotted frame on the edge. Summary executed. Very consumed stone with ancient use. Natural dark inclusions inside the agate. Rare iconography.
