A 'SATSUMA' STYLE GLAZED CERAMIC GLOBULAR BOTTLE VASE WITH GOLD AND SILVER DECORATION

Japan, Meiji period

The external surface uniformly coated with a metallic blue glaze, the decoration consisting of vertical bands finely painted in gold and silver with stylized floral motifs, marked 錦光山造 (Kinkōzan tsukuru, “Made by Kinkōzan”) in red enamel to the centre of the base; “S.Kinkozan/ 1384./ Kyoto, Japan” printed and inked on a label to the centre of the base.
