Description

Rare and important neoclassical intaglio in jadeite. Bacchante: bacchante, naked bust, going to the left, head leaning towards right, wrapped in a wide, billowing garment,her arms lift up playing a tibrel. A tyrsus on her side. Base line. Big intaglio, very elegant and refined, very masterfully engraved on rare material. Second half of 18th century. See: Lucia Pirzio Biroli Stefanelli, La Collezione Paoletti.
