Gaius, called Caligula (37-41), Sestertius, Rome, AD 37-38; AE (g 25,57; mm 37; h 6); C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M TR POT, laureate head l., Rv. ADLOCVT, Gaius, togate, standing l. on platform before low stool, hand extended to five soldiers, helmeted and with shields and parazonia; the two rearmost pairs of soldiers carry an aquila; in ex. COH. RIC 32; C 1.
Riverine patina, large flan, about extremely fine.
