Example of archaic kouros archetype, characterized by the typical standing arrangement, outlined features, adhering arms to the body and sticking legs between them.
Originally fixed in a base, generally in stone or metal.
Derived from the Greek practice and following the use of sacral purpose, probably dedicated in a sanctuary as a votive offering to the gods.

PROVENANCE
Property of a gentleman; acquired on the European art market between 1960s and 1980s.
