A SONG DYNASTY LONGQUAN CÉLADON-GLAZED ‘LOTUS’ BOWL


6,5 x 17 cm
The exterior moulded with lotus flower petals, overall covered with a crackled céladon glaze.

Provenance: Acquired before 1975.

A very similar bowl is in the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco (He Li, Chinese Ceramics. The New Standard Guide, London 1996, n. 269); another similar one is in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (J. Fontein – Wu Tung, The World’s Great Collections. Oriental Ceramics. Vol. 10. Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Tokyo-New York-San Francisco 1980, n. 179).
