A GE-TYPE GLAZED PORCELAIN LARGE BALUSTER VASE
China, Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century

62 cm high

With a slender shape, the ovaloid body lays on a high foot and supports a long cylindrical neck, on the median section of which two horizontal parallel edges and a pair of small tubular handles, the whole outer surface covered with white crackled glaze, a label Collezione Prodan Roma" another label with the number "68-308".


Provenance: Mario Prodan collection, Rome; Italian private collection.

Mario Prodan was a pioneer in the study of Chinese art in Italy, author of two widely circulated publications: "Incontro con l'arte cinese" (1956) e "Le ceramiche T'ang" (1961). He was also successfully active in the market, importing numerous objects from China at least until the beginning of World War II.
