ETRUSCAN BRONZE PLAQUE WITH MEDUSA
6th - 5th century BC
height cm 8,5; length cm 5,2
Amazing plaque depicting the head of Medusa, elegantly incised, characterized by the orientalizing eyes and the typical smile from which the tongue comes out. In origin, probably decorative part of bronze vessel. Untouched green patina with spots of cuprite deposits.

PROVENANCE
Property of a gentleman; acquired on the European art market between 1960s and 1980s.
