An heliotrope cameo mounted in a modern gold brooch. Bust of Christ.

The figure wears a tunic and is turned in profile to the left, with long hair held back by the crown of thorns. The face has severe features, slightly protruding cheekbones and a short beard. Work inspired by 16th century models, including the choice of this stone variety. Attractive stone color. Bezel cracked horizontally on the bust. Refined gold setting (18th - 19th century), with finely worked frame in excellent condition. For comparisons: P.
