Roman Marble Panther Holding Cista, 1st - 3rd century AD; height cm 12, length cm 12,5; Extraordinary fragment of a inlaid marble panther, with a cista between its paws. A sequense of holes runs all over the body of the animal, usually it was used as comparment for glass or gemstones. Provenance: English private collection, Kent.
