Johann Sadeler (1550-1600) after Martin de Vos (1532-1603)


Saint Cecilia seated on the left with her hands on her chest listens to an angel playing, on the right a small organ, in the center on a lectern an open antiphonary with music by D. Raymundi. At the top left, the inscription is engraved: "Precatio D. Caeciliae / Pro Virginitate Con / servanda Orantis". Below, engraved on the right “ioan. Sadler sculp. et excud. / M. de Vos Figuravit ". At the bottom of the incision a long inscription dedicated to the saint.

Beautiful copy even if glued on cardboard, small margins, lack in the white lower part, slight abrasions in the upper left.
