He lost his father at the age of six, he began to attend the oratory of St. Mark's Basilica, but family needs forced him to stop for some time to study music. Only after he getting engaged to his future wife decided to pursue a career as an opera singer. He studied with Maestro Marcello Del Monaco and perfected later with Mario Del Monaco.
