Gold necklace with lion’s heads
Magna Graecia, 3rd century BC; length cm 23 (9’’); gr 19,4; Composed of a length of loop-in-loop chain, with four hollowed biconical tube-shaped beads, two figural beads in the shape of recumbent lions and two large terminals in the form of lions protome joined in a hook-and-loop closure.
PROVENANCE:
English private collection; acquired on the European art market in the 1970s; formerly in the D.D. collection.
